Types of Sod

Bermuda

Bermuda Grass Sod
Bermuda is a dark green, fine leafed grass that produces beautiful lawns, athletic fields, and commercial properties. Because of its dense root system and top growth, it is very tolerant to high traffic. Bermuda is highly drought resistant, and performs best during periods of heat. It requires full sunlight, and is not recommended for shady conditions. When properly maintained, Bermuda prevents weed invasion. Should herbicide control be required, spraying applications are most effective.

Centipede

Centipede Sod
Centipede is known for being very low maintenance grass, which makes it one of the most popular turf choices in this area. Nicknamed “the lazy man’s grass”, it’s a dense, medium green product that produces beautiful lawns and commercial properties. Centipede is sensitive to drought conditions, but has a rapid recovery rate. It thrives best in hot, humid, and tropical climates. It’s easy to mow and has minimal disease and insect problems.

Zoysia

Zoysia Sod
Zoysia is a grass that elevates the standards and expectations of homeowners for their lawns. It combines soft-to-the-touch feel with lush green color and fine, tight blade growth. Visually, it’s a very attractive turf grass for the residential landscapes. Homeowners also appreciate it’s maintenance advantages. This turf grass accomodates a variety of activities without suffering extensive wear and tear. Zoysia is as hardy as it is attractive, and has a deep, thick root structure. In addition, slower vertical growth, plus natural chinch bug and chemical resistances, mean your lawn will require less maintenance, mowing, and water than other types of warm season grass. Durable enough for professional use, it is also a favorite of golf courses, office complexes, and other commercial areas.

St. Augustine

St. Augustine Sod
St. Augustine demonstrates superior shade, cold , frost, heat, and drought tolerance. This versatile turf grass is used across the southern United States from the Carolinas to California under a wide range of climate and soil conditions making it the ideal choice for residential and commercial use. St. Augustine is rapidly becoming accepted as a landscaping standard as it has been used in thousands of lawns since 1994. When properly maintained, St. Augustine will deliver many years of an aesthetically pleasing and functional lawn.
